Shootitlive goes web-tv platform

Posted by on Thursday, March 1st, 2012 in News Tags: , , , , , , ,

Shootitlive is usually about live media feeds with unedited photos, audio and video clips straight from the photographer’s camera to the web site. But nowadays we have users that use Shootitlive with longer, edited videos as their main web-tv platform. And just as with the live media feeds, videos play seamlessly on iPhones, Desktops and other platforms.

Shootitlive is proudly powering web-tv for customers such as Dagens Media, NyTeknik and Affärsvärlden.

“We’ve used Shootitlive as our web-tv platform since October and we’re very satisfied with the simplicity, stability and ease of use”
Peter Edhäll, CTO at Talentum

Head over to Dagens Media to catch the latest episode of DMTV where Jan Helin, Editor-in-chief at Aftonbladet is talking about the future for newspapers. Or go all geeky with Under Skalet from NyTeknik where they screw apart a Canon 500D camera piece by piece.

If you’re an existing Shootitlive user, get your popcorn out and start uploading your videos.

Check out the September edition of Wired Magazine UK where Shootitlive is featured as one of Europe’s hottest startups. In the section Every hot startup. Every rising star: Wired’s definitive 2011 list you’ll find the hottest startup in Stockholm, London, Berlin, Paris, Tel Aviv and Moscow.

Among the other 11 cool startups featured in the Stockholm section are Videoplaza, Bambuser and Stardoll. The blurb about Shootitlive says: Set up by Eivind Vogel-Rödin and Martin Levy in 2008, Shootitlive allows images and video clips to go from camera to web in seconds. It is used by Scandinavia’s largest newspapers and The Times used the platform for its royal-wedding coverage

Early 2011 we were selected to participate in Seedcamp London together with 19 other handpicked startups, but had to decline. And during the spring we were selected as one of the 2011 Red Herring Europe finalists. How the royal wedding was shot

Posted by on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011 in News Tags: , , , , ,

Canon writes about how The Times used Shootitlive to create a live photo feed during the Royal Wedding. It’s published on Canon Professional Network (CPN) which is the world-wide website for Canon pro photographers to discover all of the latest news, technical articles, and advice for using Canon professional imaging equipment.

The CPN writer Mark Alexander spoke to The Times picture editor Paul Sanders to find out how they covered the biggest pre-planned news event of the year. Click below to checkout how the photographic coverage of the Royal Wedding was planned and exactly how it was shot.

“We got this new piece of software that enabled us to transmit the picture straight to a live gallery on the website, bypassing the picture desk completely and publishing the images within 30 seconds of them being taken”

Paul Sanders, Picture Editor, The Times
