New Shoot It Live customers: Sundsvalls Tidning, Arbetarbladet, Gefle Dagblad och Sportska Centrala

Sundsvalls Tidning, Arbetarbladet, Gefle Dagblad and serbian Sportska Centrala has signed up with Shoot It Live in February to start live publish photos to their sites.

Arbetarbladet and Gefle Dagblad live published photos for the first time during the Eurovision Song Contest in Sandviken. The photographer on location sent live photos with Shoot It Live directly to the landing page of both arbetarbladet.se and gd.se.

- We recently merged our photo departments as a saving project and we are now nine photographers. The biggest difference is that we now have much more to do. But with Shoot It Live, we now have a solution that provides a range of benefits. To deliver photos to the web takes now almost no time because as soon as the last photo is taken, all photos has already been published. We can, as we did during the Eurovision Song Contest, immediately publish photos to both sites at the same time and we can now offer our visitors a first-class live reporting, says Leif Jäderberg, Director of Photography, Arbetarbladet and Gefle Tidning.

Sundsvalls Tidning has quickly got started with Shoot It Live and has already live published photos to the landing page of st.nu eight times. They have been exclusively focused on local sports coverage including basketball with the Sundsvall Saints, the sports gala and hockey with Timro Vs. Modo.

A busy weekend! #os2010 #mel2010

It has been a busy weekend in the name of live coverage.

The Olympics kicked off with the opening ceremony at 6pm on Friday evening in Vancouver, Canada. The Aftonbladet photographer Andreas Bardell live published photos during the Swedish medal hope Helena Jonssons biathlon race. Regardless of her flawless shooting she didnt hold up against her opponents and finished in twelfth place. See the pictures here.

On Saturday at 8pm it was time for the second race in the Melodifestivalen. Aftonbladet.se live published their first photo at 19:46:58 pm and didn’t stop until 02:59:33 am.
The Aftonbladet.se visitors could enjoy 193 photos throughout the evening, night and early morning with more than 70 photos straight from the after-party

GD.se and Arbetarbladet.se utilized the Shoot It Live advantage to embed the Shoot It Live player on several sites. The photographer Madelene Söderblom live published photos from Melodifestivalen straight to the landing page on both GD.se and Arbetarbladet.se

A live-picture is worth more than thousand words!

February is a busy month with many events happening, which means many events with live photo coverage. Shoot It Lives users will continue to send live photos from events such as OS, Melodifestivalen and Let’s Dance.

Ekstrabladet, Denmark-Croatia handball

Denmark has taken medals in the last four handball European championships but this year turned out to be different. Croatia crushed the Danes’ dreams of a 2010 championship medal and they have to leave Germany without any medals. Croatia is now facing a semi-final against Poland and the Danes’ has one game left to compete for a fifth place. The Ekstra Bladet photographer Lars Poulsen LIVE published photos straight from Vienna to eb.dk.

Aftonbladet, Guldbaggen

The comedian Johan Glans hosted the televised event Guldbaggen on Monday evening. Stieg Larsson’s ”Män som hatar kvinnor” got the grand slam and took home three prizes for best picture, best female actress (Naomi Rapace) and the people award for best picture. Aftonbladet covered the event with a live slide showing what was going on and behind the scenes that not was shown on TV. View the photos HERE.

Aftonbladet – Sweden works for Haiti

Between 14-15 o’clock today Aftonbladet.se used its landing page in favor for a charity collection for victims of Haiti. The page featured a Live chat with “Doctors Without Borders”, “Shoot It Live” slideshow and webtv segments together with a counter showing how funds increased.

Voogly has today signed a new agreement with Aftonbladet about the use of the service Shoot It Live

Ekstra bladet in Las Vegas

At the end of August Shoot It Live teamed up with Canon and went to Copenhagen to meet newspapers and to promote live publishing. The danish surprised us when describing their need to live publish photos and the various creative (but not that successful) attempts in the past.

It didn’t take too long before Ekstra bladet, which is one of Scandinavia’s leading newspapers, signed up to become the first danish Shoot It Live user. And they have recently made their first live coverage with Shoot It Live.

In true Ekstra bladet style, they kicked it off big time as they covered the world boxing champion Mikkel Kesslers fight against the American Andre Ward in a battle in the Super Six tournament straight from Las Vegas.

The photographer Thomas Sjørup managed to publish 26 images before the match suddenly stopped by the doctors as Mikkel Kessler incurred an eye injury. Among the outstanding photos you’ll find the legendary Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich cheering for his fellow countryman.
